One fun tradition we have for our children every year is a Christmas Eve box. Before I got married my Christmas Eve traditions were very different then they are now. When I was a little girl my entire family, which was huge, would gather together at someone’s house and have a Christmas Eve party. We wouldn’t get home until late, but we would always open all of our present’s that night. Santa would still leave a few things in the morning though.

My husband had a different idea about gift opening when we got married though. He wanted to wait until Christmas morning to open all of the present’s. I thought “What? Wait?” this what not so! Let’s just say he won, but not without a little compromise.
I still wanted our children some day to open presents on Christmas Eve like I did when I was little, so when we had kids we agreed to the Christmas Eve box.
The Christmas Eve box was the perfect compromise, everyone still got something, and all the presents could still be opened on Christmas morning. I will share with you what I put in our Christmas boxes, but I would love to hear what you may put in your too.

Everyone gets a new pair of pajamas. I always try to Christmas pajamas
so our Christmas morning pictures are fun.
Cozy socks for warm toes.
A movie that each child has been wanting. The past few years we have bought and downloaded the movies to our Amazon Prime instant video queue. This is great because you can watch them anywhere, and they won’t get lost or damaged.
Mugs for yummy drinks.
Hot Chocolate for the fun Christmas mugs.
Popcorn for the movie.
and a Christmas book
You can make these boxes your own. After we open the Christmas Eve boxes we put on our new pajamas, cook the popcorn and make our drinks, and watch a Christmas movie
together. I love this tradition, and my children and husband do as well.
